Pacific Northwest tree Bark
Early’s love affair with tree bark began in 2018 while exploring Northeast neighborhoods such as Woodlawn, Sabin, Beaumont-Wilshire, Irvington, and Concordia. Its myriad of colors, shapes, patterns, and textures drew her into another world and seduced her. Every morning, Early woke to wonder what she would discover next. She couldn’t wait to begin her day. It was a love affair and a treasure hunt all in one.
The below series celebrates the natural beauty of tree bark as well as the abstract imagery, dynamic colors, and emotion revealed post-editing. Early enhanced the existing colors in the tree bark by adjusting the vibrancy, saturation, temperature, and tint during the editing process which brought forth these magical palettes resembling landscapes, seascapes, multi-colored tapestries, and Moroccan Boucherouite rugs.
