Early is a painter and mobile photographer whose current body of work examines the subtle qualities of the natural world, evoking the beauty and power of nature to heal and inspire hope. Her interest in nature grew out of her experience of growing up on a farm. Early’s most precious childhood memories include dancing and playing with her twin sister under oak trees, running amongst the wheat fields, rolling down grassy hillsides, climbing trees, and breathing luscious scents of lilacs. Nature has always been a place for her to escape, ponder, and dream. She discovered diverse, wild, hidden worlds of beauty and dove into her inner world to uncover what brought her joy. Her work is inspired by artists such as Georgia O’Keefe, Helen Frankenthaler, Mark Rothko, and Gerhard Richter.
She began to take art classes in high school and was voted “most artistic” by her classmates. Her interests in fashion and décor emerged during college. Taking a circuitous route to a career as a visual artist, Early merged practicality with her artistic aspirations. Graduating from the University of Toledo with a B.A. in communication, she also took painting, drawing, and design courses. Early then pursued a career as an administrator of Higher Education in Ohio and California and worked with doctors conducting health research at teaching hospitals in Pennsylvania and Oregon, while developing her interests in visual art as an avocation. Looking to spend more time in nature while advancing her art career, Early moved to the Pacific Northwest, where she lives with her cat, Bombino, and works from her home studio.
Her paintings hang in residential and corporate collections in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Oregon.
